Gents,

I drove my wife's RRS HSE over the weekend and noticed and low speed shunt in the drive line. Say for example you take your foot off the throttle at a low speed e.g. 20-30 mph, and then reapply the throttle it is not smooth. There is a noticeable shunt just as you reapply the throttle. Is this normal?

I have this and I'm told it's a characteristic - which obviously is b If anyone else gets results would be pleased to hear from you. Am told this 'feature' happens over time.

Now thats interesting because I thought my seat was faulty,when I set off at low speeds as you describe it just feels as if my seat is rocking slightly,perhaps I've got the same issue?

No my drivers is loose,its OK when I sat in the passenger seat. Just arrived,2008 8.5 TDV6 SE Stornaway,Ebony and Zebrano.

My car is a 2006, without Dynamic Response and 10K miles.

It sounds like another one of those 'it's a common problem with this model' type issues. I find it really annoying, and it makes the car feel rather unrefined.

Just got off the phone to a tech at the supplying dealer. He said that this is a known problem and there is a cure. They double flush the gearbox and then update the software in the engine, gearbox and transfer box ECU's. I am now going to ask my local dealer if he can do the work under warranty.

I get something similar to this sometimes as as I pull the car to a stop at traffic lights. The car shunts /slightly jolts forward. I assumed this was normal?! 2008 WHITE TDV6

around 145 MPH i get a little vibration.

Have the same issue on my 06 HSE. It was recently inspected by a technical rep from LR, unfortunately I was not there but it was declared as acceptable and they will not take further action.

I disagree and have started to compile a letter to LR as this issue does not affect all models, which therefore implies that it is a fault, and consequently they are obliged to resolve it. I did warn the dealer that I am well versed in the motor trade and that LR may be advised to take this issue seriously. Clearly they are not eager to start changing gearboxes, prop shafts, transfer boxes, diffs etc on a wild goose chase but as far as I'm concerned, that goes with the territory. Build it right in the first place or pay the price.

Essentially I am leaving LR with a deadline of the end of April, and I would strongly recommend that they take this seriously. With any luck they will monitor these forums and will pick up on this as a clear statement of intent that I shall pursue this matter to its bitter end, however ugly that may get.

I've had many issues before..... I've had the call - Mr , your car is fixed, what about x? well x sir is either:

a) normal
b) £1000+

I tell them that I am really enjoying the use of their hire car..... and if they would like the car back there is option:

c) Get it fixed, at no cost, then you can have your car back

.....Otherwise option:

d) we'll all get mad.... and I refuse to take my car back off you at all and we talk refunds.

I too now get this and also used too on the D3. The D3 is now sorted - LR applied an update patch to the gearbox. Must be one of those contagious issues as the D3 normally sits beside the RRS on the drive, and the RRS never used to do this, however, it does now!!!

I assume they aplied some sort of hack / patch to the gearbox to resolve the D3, lest us see if that happens on the RRS!!  My Gladiators:

I also get this problem...
it happens every few days or so...just for a moment..

driving along with accelerator only about 1/3 down...then put the accelerator straight down.....get a slight delay where the car does not accelerate..and then a jolt just before it accelerates how it should

I've got a RRS S/C with about 23,000Miles on it. RRS S/C...privacy glass,side steps and sunroof
