Hmm... have to say I could pretty much get the latches to miss if I dropped the bonnet on mine, which is why I was told to close it without the aid of gravity. I guess it's whatever works for you and your bonnet Thumbs Up

Don't know quite how I landed on this discusion however my bonnet took a bot of closing, no drama when driving it however horn sounded when I went to remotely lock it and whilst the bonnet seemed to be closed it actually wasn't. Glad I didn't drive off with it in thsat state.

A good bit of effort to close the bonnet was all that was needed. Note to self to remember in future!!! RRS - Best Car I've Ever Had

Best to let it slam closed................................. I think it was RRUK who closed it gently and then pushed it home and ended up with a large dent in the bonnet. I had the bonnet lift up onto the safety catches in the first week of ownership of my TDv6. Dealer took the car in for a look and said that I just wasn't closing it hard enough. I don't like to let the bonnet drop too hard so now I let it drop from about a foot and then gently press each side to check that the safety catches have engaged. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Autocar mag had their's lift onto the safety catch on the @ring during 120mph flat out run in thier test Supercharged! It caused them to slow down very qucikly and that was when they made comments about how good the RRS brakes are! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
