Retro-fit Adaptive Xenon's

Hi All

I have a RR Sport S with normal halogen lamps. Having owned a D3 with Xenon's I want to upgrade the headlights.
Today I won these on E-bay Item # 130201984130 and picked them up tonight. Apart from a few very minor scratches that will polish out, they are the adaptive type.
Reading a thread from Driller they should just swap straight over? but does any one know if the adaptive part will work or hinder the xenon's at all???

Cheers all

As far as I'm aware you can swap halogen lights for the Xenons but NOT the adaptive Xenons. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.

I wonder how you would connect the "adaptive" bit up to the steering system to make them point with the wheels? A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Just fitted the headlamps Smile
The Xennons work a treat, it was just a straight swap. The hardest part was taking the front grill off.
As far as the adaptive part, I don't think this works but I haven't driven a sport with adaptive head lights so do not know if you actually see the beams of light move.
Great buy for £31 for the two of them with the Xennon bulbs included and working Smile Thumbs Up

At very low speed ie turning into a junction or into your drive, you will clearly see a shift in the beam. Speed Limits! not where I live!

Did have: RRS TDV8 2008.5MY
Did have: Q7 3.0TDi S-Line/Tech/Comms pack

They aren't in the main lamp headlamp cluster which makes you wonder why they call them adaptive headlamps! There is a second side light lamp in the side light pod and when you turn the steering wheel or indicate one way the lamp on that side comes on in a sort of spotlight mode rather than a floodlight mode! This second lamp has it's lamp pointing straight ahead so there must be a very complex reflector at the back to focus it to one side. I'm not complaining mind - they are excellent of twisty country roads at night or in carparks.
I'll try to get some photos in the morning. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Smile Thumbs Up

Why don't you turn the lights switch to "AUTO" and then start the car.

I'm sure there will be problems with these. The D3 chaps have talked about this and I would guess the system is the same. You will not get the correct coverage. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.
