Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

concur about wishing the vehicle would not lower at higher speed, in particular in OZ there are many gravel based roads which are not quite the quality you would expect in terms of roads in Europe, therefore the height gives you a bit more confidence in terms of making sure you do not bottom the vehicle.. yet another Pommie living in Sydney

On the suspension part, the high speed need to achieve the lower suspension mod is to high... On long highway trip, I usually end up driving very fast to get the car lower and then reduce speed to a more "normal" one.

I have had problems off raod when I forget to turn the DSC off, can this not be an auto disengage when Low box is selected?

ORC1, Terrain response was worth all the squillions you spent developing it when my wife jumped into my car one day, looked down and said

"That is a really pretty knob" .

Just a pity she doesn't know how to use it, although I do encourage her to give it a twiddle every now and then Thumbs Up RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

TR

What would be cool would be if you could manually lock/unlock the diffs using the touchscreen. I took my sport into a quarry on saturday and didn't really need to use the TR system at all. I just selected low range, off-road height, and then let the MT/R's do the rest. It was huge fun, but I really didn't get chance to look at the TR or the 4x4 info screen, other than just before plouging it through the next obstacle.

Pulling into tesco's car park with mud covered wheels, mud up the windscreen, mud up the sides and even on the roof (no I didn't roll it!) was almost as entertaining. I think the entire car park, stopped what they were doing, and stared. Jaws wide open! I even heard one guy turn to his missus and say "Where the bloody hell's he taken that?"

Wife and baby came too, and it was awesome fun.

Thanks for making such an awesome vehicle.

I love TR although I haven't used it in anything other than the Snow setting with the new car. On the v6 I used it offroad a few times in the rock crawl and mud and ruts setting and the performance certainly made members of the SLROC stand back and watch me attempt a steep grassy slope with rain water pouring off it on the Continentals and get about halfway up before loosing traction completely. The marshal in charge made me back down the slope and attempt again with all the other drivers watching so they could see the ETC in action sending power to the wheel with grip and keeping the car inching along until there was no grip at all - the problem was the tyres and driver not the car!

Couple of points - I too agree that the DSC should auto disengage when Low Ratio or any other program than the on road setting is engaged in High range.
Ride height on road - it would be nice if the ride height would lower at say 50 rather than above 100 - the car looks like it's on tip toes if you are running on low profile 20" tyres at normal road speeds and it looks so much better with the arches properly filled with the tyre and at access height and wouldn't a lower stance be better for aerodymanics?

Also while you are at it.............................. can you redesign the stupid plastic clips that hold the front and rear removable sections from the bumpers. The tiny white clips fall out far too easily and while they only cost 25p each to replace the job also requires removal of the entire front bumper according to my local dealership and that costs a couple of hours labour and the loss of the car for the day! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

I've got a picture of the car at the end of the day when it's back on the driveway. I'll upload it later tonight. My mate says he's got a few pictures, but I haven't seen them yet. As soon as I do, I'll upload them. The sport still hasn't been washed yet, as it's booked in tomorrw for an airbag fault. No doubt it'll be nice and clean when I get it back.
