Has anyone had success selling via autotrader, we are changing both cars at the mo, my RRS and a 1.9 Golf on a 56 plate. Th Golf has been in autotrader for nearly 3 weeks and not a peep from a genuine party - 3 agency types wanting to fleece me 'assuring me' they have a buyer lined up.... i was planning to put the RRS on there as well but not sure now |

Always advertised there - never sold. Also too many calls like yours saying they had buyers even when I specifically requested none in the advert. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.

You can try pistonheads, it is free on there. The same rules apply as autotrader, make sure you have good pics, and you have it correctly priced. My cayenne was for sale for two days before i had the money in the bank. I found out what i was getting trade in, added £3K and it was gone quickly. Another similar car on autotrader was 3k more than my advert but they still have it. My boxster went via autotrader but i did have some cracking pics (the ones that were used when i bought it) and once again the phone was ringing off the hook. |

Pistonheads is a better option imo - friend tried to sell his AMG on Autotrader for 4 weeks with no luck - one week on Pistonheads and its sold |

I think it all depends on the type of car too.... an AMG is likely to sell on PH due to it's readership being of a particular type, something a little more middle-of-the-road is probably better sold on Autotrader |
