I've been in similar discussion before but no-one seems to know what the insurance implications are. Sorry to be ultra-boring, extra performance will b e great but when I write it off round a tree on a country lane and the inspectors have a look at it will I get a pay out? Sponsor or not, what's your view? |

Jonathan - its pretty straight forward - just tell your insurance company and make sure your covered - if they wont cover, or want a big premium increase then move elsewhere http://www.jkavonline.co.uk - 15% discount to rrsport.co.uk members (Discount Code: rrsport)

On my TDV6 they charged me about £80 to £100 per year extra for the increase bhp. Peanuts compared to them finding out later. MY08 RRS TDV8 HSE, Stornoway Grey, Ebony and Zabrano, sunroof, hybrid tv, premium ICE, rear E diff, privacy glass, side steps, mud flaps, S/Grey mirror covers, Venture shield, tasmods, smoked indicators, Larini sports exhaust, etc, etc. |

Yup - each insurance company will have their own different view of chipping and how much extra risk they allot to it. It's not a question for the chipping company to answer, I don't think. |

Well, guess you're all right. IF I get it done (will need some persuasion that the performance improvements are significant enough) then I'll inform the insurer and take the hit.
