United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
4 weeks in....and still smiling

So after 4 weeks of owning a RRS I'd thought I write down my experiences to date.

My TdV6 RRS HSE (Darth as in Vader) is a MY06 and was really pleased with the sales service I received. The vehicle was well prepared for my test drive(s) and on collection was superbly valeted. I was a very happy chap. No two ways about it, this car is a fabulous piece of engineering. For its mass the perfomance is 'adequate' and way ahead of the Cayenne I tried a few years ago. Before the test drive I was concerned that it would be dog-slow (my previous car was a Boxster S) but I was really impressed by the smooth delivery of both engine and transmission and usable performance. Having said that I have spent quite a few hours investigating tuning options but have yet to make any commitments. The handling improves with confidence and I am really enjoying the relaxed drive and fantastic visibility. Can't wait for our drive down to the Alps in February.

Today it was back at the dealer to have new anti-roll bar bushes (thanks to all of you who have contributed to this issue). I had no trouble getting this fixed and my drive home via 25 miles of B road was almost silent. Also fixed today were some mis-behaving parking sensors but I have still to get a solution to the BT car-kit which although fitted by the dealer and deemed 'the same as if fitted in the factory' does not perform as per the book. I declined though to pay £105 for the sat nav on the move upgrade.

Negatives? The gearbox could be sportier in that I'd like it to change down on the overun making the exit to a bend smoother and more progressive but I'll just have to start using the command shift more.

In summary, great car and really looking forward to exploring its capabilites in the coming months. Very Happy
