Leaky RRS

I seem to recall this being raised previously, but I am a lazy arse....

When I popped into my dealer the other day to get my e-tag out of my petrol drowned diesel, I noticed a puddle of water on the passengers side mat.....we had some heavy rain the day before. I put my hand up behind the glovebox and I tapped a plastic part that seemed to be the source

Any ideas.....sunroof drains? RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

There's an aircon pipe that runs up the inside of the console, this has been reported to come loose before now and turn the footwell into a swimming pool. That's simply a case of reconnecting it, if that's what the problem is with yours Very Happy

hmmm, thanks Schmoogle, but not sure it is the a/c. The car had not been driven for a few days (it can't be after my wife filled it with petrol Rolling Eyes ), so not sure why it would be the aircon drains? I have never seen it before even with aircon running all day......also, it coincided with the first decent hard rain we have had for ages.

I did do a bit of searching on previous threads and there is something about leak A pillars where trim fit holes leak. RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

There have been a few leaks similar to this reported over on the Disco3 forums recently and it turned out to be the sunroof drains. IIRC there is a TSB out from LR about them for Discos A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

This is a NAS bulletin on water ingress (it also refers to the bulletin posted by Bobby among the possible remedies, although in North America that TSB has a slightly different number than in ROW.) It makes our cars sound like a bunch of leaky buckets!

New Zealand 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue

Hi There Lateral5

Had a similar problem and thought I hadn't been using the aircon but that's what it turned out to be. Suggest you try that first. Fixed by dealer and no trouble since TDV6 (Sep'06)/Buckingham Blue/Ivory Prem/Prem ICE/Privacy Glass +++.
Also BMW 330D 2003 with 'M' Kit - (wife's rocket) and 1985 BMW 628 CSI

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

There are a couple of things which could cause this problem.

As everyone has already said the sunroof drain tubes could be blocked or mis routed.

Or it could be a leaking plenum seal. The plenum is the black plastic trim that runs across the bottom of the windscreen. A quick way to check this is to gently press on the black trim and look for movement or a gap to the screen which would let water through to the seal area.

From your description I think you can discount a leaking door seal or A post, these would normally show themselves via a wet carpet.

Good luck, I hope your dealer sorts the issue ok. Thumbs Up Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
