Just a thought...

Are your DVDs correctly coded? The DVD Player fitted to your car will only play discs that are marked with the same region code as where your vehicle was bought. For example a European coded DVD player may not play DVDs coded for South East Asia! Malaysia Boleh!
4.2SC Chawton White, Stormers
Tasmod's Sills, Wind Deflectors, LR Sills
Clear Side Repeaters, Towbar
Larini Sports Exhaust, K&N Air Filter

Probably too late, but this is from an old DVD troubleshooting bulletin.

Quote:
VIDEO SIGNAL IS INCORRECT
NOTE: If an incorrectly formatted DVD is installed in the DVD-C (for example a Region 2 PAL DVD disc used in a Region 2 NTSC DVD-C player) the message 'VIDEO SIGNAL SYSTEM IS NOT CORRECT' will be displayed on the front and rear LCD screens.
1. If the message 'VIDEO SIGNAL SYSTEM IS NOT CORRECT' appears, investigate the possible Root Cause:
• Selected DVD player video settings are the wrong format.
• DVD disk loaded is of a different format than the DVD.
• Corrupted or damaged (scratched or dirty) disk cannot be read.
2. If a cause is determined, make the appropriate corrections as follows:
• Check and replace any damaged disks.
NOTE: The remote control can select between the NTSC and PAL
video formats. The message should clear once the correct video
format has been selected.

• Press and hold the On/Off switch at the side of the remote control to
select the correct video format. (Figure 1)
• If the message remains, cycle the vehicle ignition.
• If required, disconnect and reconnect the vehicle battery.

Check to make sure you are not in the wrong video format using the remote (e.g. NTSC and trying to play PAL encoded discs) as per bold note above... It may be as simple as that. The On/Off button is the small one on the upper left side of the remote. Good luck, keep us posted!

Hi. Today I got my car back from the dealer. They can't give an answer to the problem with the DVD player. So they contacted land rover and an expert will come to the dealer and will check out what is the problem. I will keep you posted but I have the impression that this will be a difficult one... Sad

Rolling Eyes For Heaven's Sake, what more is there to "check out", I wonder? The DVD changer or RSE module don't work, put new ones in and get it over with! This "We're flying in an electronic warfare expert from London" crap sound like French for "We couldn't take a look at it but don't have the balls to tell you and hope you will go away now" to me, I've heard it before... Laughing Anyway, I assume you have tried the suggestions in the above bulletin on your own already? Can you imagine if you were able to make the thing work in your garage? They'd have to cancel the James Bond arrival!

Let us know how it ends, sorry to hear about your trouble.

Problem solved

"• Press and hold the On/Off switch at the side of the remote control to
select the correct video format. (Figure 1) "
Today I decided to trie again what Umbertob send me in one of his replies and guess what , ... this time it worked.
I think i didn't hold the On/Off switch on the remote long enough the first time. I am leaving in a few days on a holiday with the wife and kids, so you can imagine the kids are happy that daddy (with the big help of Umbertob) fixed the rse system.
I still can't believe my dealer didn't managed to fix it. Anyway, thank you for all the reply's and especially Umbertob for helping solving the problem Bow down
