Anyway as it looks like I am going to be doing this myself, does anybody know what the torque settings should be for tightening up the wheel nuts so I don't damage the alloys - I don't see it anywhere in the owners manual and never had to change a wheel myself on the last car. Is the torque the same for 19" wheels and 20" wheels? A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I was using my torgue wrench on the weekend when changing a few of my 20" tyres and the setting in the manual was 140nm.

Too tight isn't too much of a problem - too loose and you hear the wheelnuts dropping off and rolling along the road. I followed a friend who was in a Defender that he had just changed the wheels over to MTR's and hadn't done the nuts more than finger tight.............................. just managed to stop him from driving any further in time before he lost all the nuts off one wheel............................we had to walk back along a very busy road trying to collect the nuts that had gone AWOL A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
