Stray cable/connecter above o/s silencer box

When checking my tyre pressures....ok, so its the first time in 6 months, but that’s not the point, I noticed a two wire cable with a plastic connecter hanging down beside the offside silencer. It had a stud fastener that I assume had become detached and I couldn’t find out where it should be located. As it wasn’t connected I think its just a part of loom not enabled to UK spec cars. Anybody know about this cable as when I phone my local L/R stealer they didn’t have a clue.......so nothing new there then? .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

Hmm, that sounds weird. Do you have a picture of this connector? And, ehm, where under the car is this offside silencer you are speaking of? Unless we are talking football offsides, I am in trouble. Embarassed

Went to the dealer, looked at brand new cars, they don't have the cable.......guess it was for something in another market that wasn't use in the UK.

So that's ok then Confused' .

They had no idea..........they thought it may be something for a US spec car, but as I am the first owner and I spec'd the car, that's probably a bit dubious.

Still its not a though they've taken anything away! .

Is this hanging connector near the rear differential? I am thinking it may be the harness and plug for the optional lockers.
