Australia 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Dealer service recommendation

Hi All,
I am getting close to taking my tdv6 in for a first service and have a couple of issues that need to be fixed - Vibration through steering (not the balancing issue), mirrors not returning after reversing, juddering wipers. Does anyone have a recommendation on who to use? Alto is very covenient being very close to work, Trivett has a brand new service centre and isn't to far from home and seem to use synthetic oil (unlike Alto). I bought the car from Purnell motors but they are a long way away.
thanks,
Anthony

Anthony, I've used Trivett when they were in their old location for my first service in July. I was happy with the work, though they did not have to do much, just change the oil. Yes, they did use synthetic even with the vehicle on the free service scheme. It's booked in for the 24k service in early Oct at the new facility.

All I can say is DONT use Rolfe in Canberra. I've had lots of issues with them over time even though they have changed management within the Rolfe group. As recently as last night, a mate went to pick up his D3 at 1700 after confirming the service had been completed successfully at 1400. As he drove out of the yard and the trans and engine went into limp home mode. Apparently the dash looked like a xmas tree. After some discussion (alot apparently) they admitted that an apprentice must have skipped a step in the setup when loading an ecu update. They said it will take a few hours to fix. He is now driving a dealership vehicle today and will pick up his car tonight. Question is did they test drive after the service, I don't think so.

Hmmm.

Well, I had the first service at Trivett and am a little disappointed. Mainly about being charged $117 for a pair of wiper blades as they don't see it as a warranty item Evil or Very Mad The car is feeling a lor smoother as they updated the software (to combat the occasional huge acceleration lag) and used fully synthetic Mobil1 at horrendous cost ($18 per liter). All up I was charged $600 which I consider a little expensive for what is just meant to be an oil change! They did replace the memory module for the seats/mirrors under warranty but I have to go back to have the steering vibration looked at. I may go to Alto for this as they are a lot more convenient to get to...

Mines in now for the 24k service at Trivett's new showroom and workshop - it's a very nice setup. The free bottled water and newspaper on arrival is an interesting approach. I'm glad my deal included free servicing for 3 years. I hate to say but my first service cost $0 inc Mobile 1!!.

They did say I'd have to pay for the wipers as well..... Censored .

According to other posts the wiper blade replacements are part of TSB which should be replaced free if under a year old. I will need to chase up Trivett on this..

The blades have to be reported before the first service. This is way out of order. Why should you have to complain about a known issue !.

In Sydney CBD today, saw loads Wink getting far to common

Mine is off to Alto tomorrow to get a new door trim installed and most importantly sort out the Electronic Park brake, it sounds like a banshee going off sometimes..it quietened down for a day or so..and is now howling like a good one

Enjoy Washington, Alexandria is a nice place Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I know what you mean. I was up in Sydney two weeks back and from William street to Pitt street in the CBD I saw seven different RRS's in less than three km's.

Very common indeed - especially in Java.

Glad that I ordered a different colour Laughing Just a white TDV8 with a few extras
