Most modern cars have a similar system. BMWs even report back to Germany using Bluetooth/Wireless when in the dealers. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Switzerland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

i dont think there is a need to disable it. In an event of a crash, the police will find out anyways if you had your seatbelts on, or if you went too fast. At least here in europe (dunno about US), they use laser scanners, so they can feed the crash visuals into a computer, which then from the damage on the cars calculates pretty much everything the black box records anyways. I guess it just makes it cheaper, since the cops dont have to use that laser thingy, and can just read the blackbox. RRS SC Bonatti Grey

We all break the law on the road and accept the consequences if we crash. Accept it, it might actually help you one day. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Still unconvinced as to benefits. Things like this only help if EVERY vehicle has it fitted. If some mug in an E-reg Escort causes an accident but I was pushing a touch over the speed limit - the first piece of evidence that the police would have would be my speed (but would have to work harder to gather evidence about the Escort drivers actions) - and you can't tell me that wouldn't influence their mindset thoughout their "impartial" investigation.

This strikes me as being akin to the possible introduction of compulsory GPS logging of vehicle speed/road usage which led to the 1.8m signature petition earlier in the year - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

Sorry - I'm starting to sound political now!

I don't own a RRS, wish I could afford one!!

To make up for that, I drive a ford cortina with a range rover V8 in it!

I'm a fully trained LR technician with 10 years experience although I don't work at a landy dealer any more, I jacked it in 4 weeks ago and now work at a chevy/mitsubishi dealer. I no longer work for Stratstone land rover cardiff. Thank f**K!!!

Now there is a thought, what would be the percentage of warranty work through the workshop in Chevy/Mitsubishi dealer compared to a LR dealer. Whistle Whistle You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

I read somewhere else that this is part of the global OBD3 standard to be fitted to all cars by 2012 - I think!

Anyway here's some info

https://www.heartland.org/Article.cfm?artId=13847 It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!

I miss my old RRS "bucket" rattling around but it just had to go!
