Political Cartoons

Considering that we are such a diverse geographic group, I'm curious as to how some of us feel about the "religious cartoons" causing all the reactions
Confused

Most wars / disputes / conflicts & trouble in general is based over differences of opinion on religion....... Banging Head

I have seen this topic errupt into a massive argument on some of the other car forums i often visit, so im not going to even offer my opinion.

Just that they shouldn't have printed it, and there is always a line between freedom of speech and respect of other cultures and religions, and why kick off on millions of people worldwide?

There is a petition circulating right now on email that i read somewhere last week, trying to stop a hollywood movie being released which depicts Jesus Christ as a homosexual. WTF is happening?

Agree - it's a bit of a cliché but I really try and steer away from political or religious conversations.... it all ends in tears, I tell thee.

I agree, its a no win topic especially as I grew up in a country where people died in the name of religion and their views on it. Off Topic TDV6 - gone

Had a courtesy call from the local Plods this morning, asking if everything was ok and if we had received any calls, or had graffitti on our building or anything..

Nothing to report from me, but on asking whether everything was ok elsewhere, she said, small minor incidents reported, but nothing major. "We are just trying to keep on top of everything" she gave me her direct number and had we have units on standby in your area, so if anything happens please don't hesitate to contact me.

Was quite good to know the police are there to help, but has worried me slightly, as should i expect anything to happen with all of this? things seem to be quieting down again now.

My dads quite involved in the British Muslim community, and he gave an interview for sky news a couple of weeks back for all this, we remain neutral in all these things, as we can see them for what they are, media 'sh*t stirring' at its best so don't want to cause more problems with silly comments. Another chairman in our area, always says stupid things without thinking, maybe thats why he has had three death threats!?
He has even made the BBC main news page with his silly comments.. senile and stupid springs to mind, don't bite the hand that feeds you and all that, and whatever you do, don't **it on your own doorstep!
