Yesterday I had my dealer replacing the wiper blades with the new quiet ones (...... on my drive home there was a constant drizzle and they actually seem to work Very Happy !!!!!!)

We discussed a few other things and it transpired that they are shortly going to receive a new CD from LR which would allow them to update all MY 05/06 Nav Systems with the navigatation on the move facility. Very good news indeed, means there's no need to purchase a new DVD.... SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

No recall on the blades, just poor workmanship on the OEM. You may convince your dealer to replace them free, but that is not the official stance. There are lots of aftermarket choices for less money as well. Look around here, been lots of posts about them.

Any pre 07 model year RRS will need a software update for the sat nav to enable sat nav input whilst on the move. You dont need to update/upgrade your actual disc, only the software.

Your dealers have been instructed by LR to only do this if asked to do so by the customer - it takes approx 2hrs and they will charge you for this.

Is it really worth it ?????? .......... depends if your a rep on the road who needs to constantly input new destinations.

Here endeth the lesson on "satnav on the move" Wink

£54+vat does not buy you 3hrs of a dealers time in any case.... Very Happy Cheers

My dealer quoted around £150 to do the nav on the move update - i just had the service instead!

Just noticed that the 2007/2008 satnav DVD is now available. Anyone know what the difference from the 2006/2007 DVD is - if any!

Onthe move

Hello, theNAv In MOtion, it will be for your Navigation, the Nav-tv InMOtion will let the TV/DVD will not stop working. If you think the Navigation update for 150 will allow you to watch tv at a higher speed it Wont.
They are 2 different things.
About the 2 dvd's 2006 is good to have, I wont update to the 2007 because it will not let me have the diagnostic code to switch video inputs.
Adios

The new disc DOES NOT give you "Input on the Move"/ "Punch in whilst you drive" or whatever else you would like to call it.

Yes, there is a software update, but it does not enable this function. The function lock remains a stealer job, something I have yet to get done. Few changes with regards notification of traffic and automatic re-route - aside from that, all looks very familiar. My Gladiators:

RRS S/C HST - respect of the highest order
Freeloader 2 SE with all the toys - my baby RR

Disco3 - Gone
Defender 90 TD - Gone
FFRR Vogue - Gone
BMW X5 4.4 - Gone
LR Defender Tdi - Gone

On-the-move navigation input has not been universally implemented on 2007s. Here in North America for example, we are still locked out of it as soon as we start rolling, and to make matters worse Land Rover also disabled the 1791 hack on MY2007s (as well as on MY06 updated with 07 map DVDs)... Evil or Very Mad So, whether this feature has been added on 07s or not is up to what Land Rover decided to do in your country.

Hey, new to the forum, and I've been reading various threads related to nav on the move. For those of us in the US, what I've concluded based on the various posts is that if I have a MY06 RRS, the following is true:

1) Can use the 1791 hack if I have the original DVD, but no way to permanently enable it
2) Can no longer use the 1791 hack if I buy a new DVD, period
3) Dealers in US won't (ever) do the software upgrade to enable nav on the move

Is that about right?
