The new Grand Cherokee is nothing like the old. It like compairing the Disco2 with the Disco3.
The new Jeep handles well and is very 'sporty' in its ride. It really accelerates too. Diesel is economic - it uses the new Merc 3ltr from the new ML. The seats are much better too - not like the old ones (a lump of foam that squashes on the sides and makes you fall out).
Have a look drive of the new style Grand Cherokee. I would have a one over a X5 with 40k miles. The Jeep is more 'exclusive', Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

Also drove a Disco 2 yesterday - Mrs VA would have had that but I took it out on a drive and Nooooooooooo! The turning circle is terrible and I just didn't like the drive - I think we're spoilt in the RRS. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.
