I asked for a quotation and the prices are good.

Anyone else used the company or got an import RRS?

Regards

Richard

Any further details of these cars, it says on their website to be eligible for these prices you have to fit into these criteria:

"Who may qualify to purchase tax- and duty free ?

* E.C. military forces personnel embarking on an overseas posting or currently serving abroad
* E.C. diplomats embarking on an overseas posting or currently serving abroad
* Visiting foreign diplomats and foreign military personnel based in the E.C.
* Embassies and International Organisations
* Private individuals wishing to export a new vehicle from the E.C.
* Expatriate citizens returning to their home country having spent a period of time living in the E.C.

The eligibility and supply of vehicles tax free in the UK and for export from the UK and the continent is governed by HM Customs and Excise.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the import regulations of any country to which the vehicle is later exported are complied with. This includes responsibilities in terms of import licence and to pay any port dues, landing charges, import duties or local taxes arising at the port of discharge. "

So, you could export to a friendly low import tax country, and then reimport it back into the UK? or would there be regulations, ie a certain time frame before you could bring the car back into the country?
This seems interesting, did you get anywhere with this Rich?

Guernsey 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red

You could always buy one here in my name, let me look after it for 6 months and then take it into the UK. Sounds good? Very Happy

Even for Channel Islands ex VAT prices, these prices are £3000 less than I am paying. Sad Though a favourable exchange rate helps and they are imports. Rob

I did this all the time when I was in the Forces. It used to be 6 months out of the country before you could bring it back in. I have a feeling they have now increased that, but a call to customs would provide the answer. I'm surprised someone hasn't started a business doing this. TDV6 - gone

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue
tax free rrs

new to the forums page, have been following the discussions for a while now

I have ordered a 2.7HSE RRS cairns blue, alpaca, cherry, privacy glass telephone integration, adaptive headlights.

Unfotunately 16 wks delivery but this is the same as quoted from a main dealer.

paid £39 400 on the road full 3 yr main dealer warranty and 1yr road tax

collect from nottingham or delivered to your door for an extra £100

car is coming from germany after it is built and shipped out of the uk

theoretically it could be argued it is an import, but as range rovers are only made in the uk, to have one first registerd in the uk, after a visit to germany on a lorry surely must make it a uk car? 2.7HSE on order cairns blue/alpaca/cherry,privacy,bluetooth,adaptive lights

Hi 912quik, did you order this through Neyland or another agent? You've made a considerable saving over buying on the UK market... about 5k. Good one! Very Happy

Hmm - I don't like to worry you, 912quik but they've been investigated by Watchdog for being a money-earning scam for the owners. The top few Google results for "micronet showroom" are virtually all negative. Lots of threads on the Parkers forum over lost money etc. I'm sure you've looked into them - but wouldn't want you to lose 40k on a car scam....

Let us know how you get on. Personally I'd steer well clear from what I hear about them Confused
