Mounting the Hitch

I tried to familiarize myself with the trailer hitch installation today. I couldn't even get the key out of it while still on the floor of my garage. I think the key allows rotation of the plastic part, but nothing was going anywhere, and the key did nothing. I have no directions for it. How hard could this be? Thanks for any advice. '06 RRS Giverny/Alpaca

Yes, it's all in the documentation... including instructions for the "hitch receiver" that we use in North America.

With the hitch off the car, it should be in the correct position to slot straignt into the car. The knob will then click into the closed position to allow you to lock it and remove the key.
To removeit, you need to pull and then turn the knob. Mind your fingers, it can drop out quite quickly and give your knuckles a good bash on the floor. That isn't from personal experience incidentally Wink

The key does not remove until the hitch is secured in place on the car, you then lock with the key and remove. L319 D4 HSE
