Hi everyone. I too have the now infamous 'knocking' noise on my 07 model HSE. My local dealer (Hartwell Northampton) have tried hard to fix it, but have been unsuccesful to date. They also tell me that they have several other customers with the same issue. They are adament that replacing the bushes (as advised by VOR) will not solve the problem, and the latest software releases have superceded the patch he mentions too. If you remove the fuse for the ARC system, the noise stops - but obvioulsy the ARC doesn't function!

Possibly so. The first thing I noticed when the fuse had been pulled was that the slight clonk from the steering that you describe (when you turn the wheel from one side to the other at low speed) had gone. |

Have had the anti-roll bushings replaced twice! After about a month the knocking returns. Service manager at my local dealership admits that Land Rover do have a problem with RRS and not with FFRR. Land Rover are aware of the problem in UK and as usual are slow to rectify same. Another problem that has compounded my problem is my left front wheel has become unbalanced probably after hitting a pot hole and needs to be straightened by a specialist wheel aligner. This apparantely is adding to the annoying knocking noise especially at about 30-40 mph on uneven surfaces. Wheel costs about €100 to be fixed and is a common problem with alloys on crappy roads. |

Hydraulic shuttle noise apparently - an inherent part of having Dynamic Stability Control fitted (ie all HSE's!!!). Ive had this problem since new (March 07 RRS TDV8 HSE) and I have been categorically reassured its not a problem (LR Regional Engineer) and that I shouldn't worry (LR Customer Services)!

mmmm... my RRS was in the workshop for 5 and half weeks for the DR ECU and the knocking. LR Tech advised the to replace the bushes, and both roll bars and other bits.....

There are several different threads running on this same ongoing problem. Did they not all ought to be combined under one topic? STRENGTH IN NUMBERS 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps. |

Glad to see some of you are managing to get LR technical to look at their car. I my self have been declined this honour. I have been told by LR customer services that if the dealer has followed the tips in the bulletin, (which they have and more), then there is nothing more they are willing to do, (Heaven knows which PR school they attended). I do find this refusal bit strange as they have never test driven my car. As Doc says, there may be two problems here.

So where is everyone going from here? There must be quite a few thousand S/C's and 2007 HSE's out there now - all fitted with DR. How long is it going be before this blows up in Land Rover's face BIG TIME. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps. |
