It sure looks like he has the Nav-TV "tuner" hack installed... so he can view a video source.

Actually, his first message blatently says it. Very Happy

Very nice Neil, who did you use to supply/install all this kit? Also did they have many options on the rear screen choice? From your pics I see that you have located the DVD player in the factory provided location in boot.

Do you have an individual breakdown of the component costs + labour

Looks great though Neil Very Happy

hi neilR

think it looks great , looking at doing the same thing, but one question. if u get the nav tv module, does that come with a tuner or is that an extra item to buy ? if you have had a tuner which one did you have fitted and where were the ariels put ??

Hope u can help, Nick

Nav-TV does not sell a tuner. If you buy their "TV video input hack", it turns on the dormant TV tuner UI in the system to allow you to select a single video source... but it's not a functional tuner. You can, however, plug in any video source. This could be a TV tuner or anything else. But you'd need to control it via the device itself.

ok, i understand so the pictures that neilr were showing in his pics were from a dvd player not a tv tuner , but you can only select one source ? so you could not connect a dvd and a seperate tuner ? you could only fit one input.... anyone know any tv tuners with half decent ariels can;t stand the ones with the wires that go round the window frames, they always seem to fall of !

Nick

nickessex, Nav-TV also sells a video switcher. Smile Yes, it's only one input... so you need a switchbox.

There is no real "fix"... you can connect any composite video to the rear of the Navigation screen and view it in diag/test mode. (Without RSE, there would be no other way to view the signal... that's when the Nav-TV "tuner" hack comes into play.)

Here is the old document for Discovery 3, where he ran his roof-mounted OEM DVD output to the Navigation screen: http://disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=475

He's since added a the Nav-TV tuner hack...
