Martin,

Q. Not being an "I.T." wizzard how do you select snapshots/ parts of web pages or your computer ( as in the above explanation you have done ) and then reproduce them in topics like this ?

I know how to save a snapshot ( web archive ) but unable to upload into a topic?

I now have a headache Sad

To copy the contents of the entire screen into the clipboard, press Ctrl+PrintScreen. To just grab the current window (e.g. your browser), press Alt+PrintScreen. You can then paste this into your favourite graphics editor and cut out the bits you need to paste up into a topic/document/email etc.

If you do the following:

1. Get some stuff on your screen
2. Press Ctrl+PrintScreen
3. Go Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint (which will load up the ropy MS graphics package, but good enough for this demo)
4. Hit Ctrl-V to paste the clipboard and you should see the screenshot appear
5. Now you can use the rectangle tool to simply click/drag the mouse around the area you want to cut out. Cut & paste as necessary

Should work - this a standard Windows operation...

Cheers shmoogle,

Ive tried and nothing happens when I use ctrl + PrtScn ( is this printscreen you refer to ? )

I am ok with copy other stuff to clipboard & open paint - then use ctrl + v - this works ok. But I cant even select all ( web page ) - copy - then paste into paint ?

You won't be able to do a select all and paste it into Paint as it Paint expects graphics and not text, but it's odd why you can't do Ctrl+PrtScn (yes, it's the same thing). Does it work with Alt+PrtScn? That should get you the "current" window instead of the whole desktop...
